Prices are based on time, distance and effort starting at $30 for one man with van, local delivery, max time of thirty minutes, add $10 for each additional quarter hour or portion thereof. Whether I quote a job as a delivery or minimove is totally discretionary. Most sofas are quoted as minimoves, and I generally use a flat rate. The lowest $30 delivery rate is typically used on single, easy to move items.

NOT ALL JOBS ARE THE SAME

Prices vary because jobs vary. Before I can give you a price I need to know exactly what you’d like to move, from where, to where, what’s involved with stairs and distance to carry? Are there hallways, courtyards, how close to the door is parking? How many items?

Once I have a good idea of what’s involved, I’ll quote a price with a timed rate, flat rate or combination rate based on calculations of $40 an hour for one man or $60 an hour if I bring a helper.

The initial hour is always slightly higher to offset some of the time and expense in getting to and from the job, with the exception of small jobs that are quoted for $30 with a thirty minute max. The local area is Boston, Cambridge, Brookline and Somerville. Other areas are not a problem, but pricing is calculated to account for time from Boston to pickup, to destination, back to Boston, plus estimated handling time. There are no add-ons for fuel or miscellaneous charges.

YOU HELP, YOU SAVE

The lowest rate is one man with van. You may choose to schedule man with van plus helper which is priced at $110 with a ninety minute max, add $30 for each additional half hour or portion thereof.

MINIMOVES and EXTRA EFFORT

A one man minimove with you as the helper is priced at $50 which includes the first hour, add $10 for each additional quarter hour or portion thereof. Items like sofa beds, or jobs that involve long carries or numerous stairs are generally priced higher. Prices are quoted based on job description. Overwhelmingly, the jobs are as described and the payment received upon job completion is most appreciated. The only circumstance in which pricing would change is when the job changes or is way out of sync with the description.
